Diesel House is tucked away at No: 24/5 in the R.M.S. Colony, right near the S.K.G Sugar Mill on Chapra Road. Being close to the mill means there is always something happening nearby. We deal with diesel engines and all the parts that go with them. As you can imagine, the place is quite greasy. There are oil stains on the floor that have probably been there longer than I have. We spend our days taking things apart and putting them back together. Patna can get really humid, and working around hot engines doesn't help with that, but we’re used to it by now. We have a lot of regular people who drop by just to ask a question or find a specific bolt they can’t get anywhere else. Our shelves are crowded with boxes and old components that we might need someday. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know where the important stuff is kept. We don't bother with a lot of fancy talk or trying to look like a big corporation. We’re just a local shop in the colony trying to keep things running. Sometimes we have to wait a while for parts to arrive from the city, so we just drink tea and talk about the news until the delivery truck shows up. It’s a slow and steady kind of life here, and we like the rhythm of the mechanical work we do. We just keep the wrenches turning and the engines firing.
