Crossroad Logistics Pvt.Ltd is based in the village of Hariharpur, in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. Purnendu Jha is the person who looks after things here. It’s a much slower pace than the big cities, but the work is just as tough in its own way. The roads around here can be a real challenge, especially after a big storm, so a lot of our time is spent just figuring out if a truck can actually reach its destination. The office is very basic, just a place to keep the records and take calls when the signal is good enough. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate logos on the walls. It’s more about knowing the local geography and which bridge is out of commission this week. Purnendu spends a lot of time talking to the local folks and making sure the deliveries get to the right houses and businesses in the district. It’s a very personal way of doing business because everyone in the village knows everyone else. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the essentials to get the job done. Sometimes it’s frustrating when things move slowly, but that’s just how it is in rural Bihar. We take pride in just being able to get the work finished despite the difficulties. It’s a simple, honest way to run a logistics business.
