This branch of ours is over at Chhoti Pahari in Patna. We share the space with the Bharti Infratel warehouse, which is right on the Gandhi Setu Path. It’s a busy stretch of road, especially with everyone trying to get across the bridge. You can hear the constant hum of the traffic from our desks all day long. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got our desks and computers set up in a corner of the warehouse area. It gets quite dusty with all the construction and the heavy vehicles passing by, so we’re always wiping things down. Chhoti Pahari has its own pace, a bit gritty and very industrious. Most of us have been around here for years, so we know all the shortcuts to avoid the worst of the bridge traffic. It isn’t a place for meetings in suits or anything like that. We are usually in our work clothes, dealing with loaders and drivers coming in from long trips. The tea around here is strong and the lunches are usually brought from home and eaten quickly between tasks. It’s just a regular workplace where things get done without much fuss. We’ve grown accustomed to the noise of the Gandhi Setu Path. It is just part of the daily grind in Patna-7, making sure the goods move and the records stay straight. The building is simple and gets the job done.
