Our courier company is located way out in the Dulha village, which you get to via Keotiranway in the Madhubani district of Bihar. It’s a rural spot, so things move a little differently here than in the cities. We’ve got a small office where we sort out the parcels and letters that come through the post. It’s a lot of manual work, checking addresses and making sure things are going to the right village. The roads around here can be tough, especially during the monsoon when everything gets muddy and slow. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know all the local shortcuts. It’s not a fancy logistics center with robots; it’s just a few of us sitting around a big table or standing by the sorting bins. We deal with a lot of people from the nearby areas who are waiting for important packages. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours, so we have to do everything by hand with flashlights. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. We just focus on getting the deliveries done as best as we can given the conditions. It’s a quiet life in Madhubani, but the work is steady. We take pride in knowing the names of the people we’re delivering to. It’s a local business through and through, run by people who grew up right here in these fields and villages.
