Our office is at A/65 in P.C. Colony, which is a big part of Kankarbagh in Patna. Kankarbagh is a busy place, but P.C. Colony has its own pockets of quiet. We’ve set up shop here to handle the daily grind of professional work. It’s a standard Patna house converted into an office space. We have the usual things you’d expect, like desks and stacks of papers that never seem to get smaller. Sunil Kumar is here most days, along with the rest of the staff. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small team of us doing the work. The area is convenient because it’s well-connected. You can get here easily from most parts of the city. We spend a lot of time on the phones and looking at records. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. The neighborhood has a lot of families, so it feels safe and settled. Sometimes the power goes out, or the street gets flooded when it rains too hard, but that’s just life in Patna. We keep going regardless. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe ourselves. We are just an office in Kankarbagh. People come to us when they need things sorted out. We drink a lot of chai and keep the fans running. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in this city. Our desks are pushed against the walls to make room for visitors to sit down.
