Bihar Industries Association

The Bihar Industries Association is located at Industry House on Sinh Library Road in Patna. It’s an old building that has seen a lot of history. We’ve been here for a long time, and you can tell by the way the walls look and the smell of old paper in the rooms. This isn't a place for fancy things; it’s where people from different industries come to talk about their problems. We spend a lot of time organizing meetings and sitting in rooms with spinning ceiling fans. The road outside is usually crowded with rickshaws and people walking to the library. It can get quite noisy, especially in the afternoons. Our office is full of wooden cupboards and registers that have been there for decades. We drink a lot of tea while we discuss things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to sit and wait or use the backup lights. It’s a very local feel here. We know the people who work in the nearby shops and the street vendors. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place for local business people to gather. There’s always someone coming in with a letter or a request, and we do what we can. It’s a slow, steady kind of work that happens every day in this corner of Patna.
