You can find Banwarilal Wood Crafts over on Dak Bunglow Road. We’ve been here for a long time now, and the shop is a bit worn down, but it works for us. We do all our woodworking right here. It’s a messy job, so there is always sawdust on the floor and in our hair. We use basic tools, mostly hammers, chisels, and a couple of old saws. We don't have any of those fancy computerized machines. It’s just us and the wood. We take on all sorts of jobs, from making furniture to fixing up doors. The traffic on Dak Bunglow Road can be loud, but we don't pay much attention to it anymore. We buy our lumber from local suppliers we've known for years. Sometimes the wood isn't perfect, but we find a way to use it. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity. We just want to do a decent day’s work and earn enough to keep going. Some days are better than others, depending on how the wood behaves. We close up when it gets dark because the lighting inside isn't great. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, cut the wood, and put things together. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. The neighbors stop by to chat sometimes while we're working. It’s a small community and we've been part of it for a generation.
