B Gupta & Company

Our office is inside the Maharaja Complex on Frazer Road in Patna. If you’ve ever tried to park around Frazer Road, you know it’s a bit of a nightmare, so we usually tell people to take a rickshaw if they can. B Gupta & Company has been in this spot for a good while. It’s a standard office setup with some chairs for visitors and a lot of storage for all the records we have to keep. The complex itself stays pretty busy with people coming and going from different businesses. We mostly deal with the regular accounting stuff that comes through the door every day. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy furniture or expensive art on the walls. It’s just a place to work. Sometimes the building gets a bit noisy with all the construction nearby, but we just shut the door and keep going. We drink a lot of chai throughout the afternoon while we go over the books. Patna weather can be tough, either too hot or too rainy, so the office is our little retreat where we can focus on the tasks at hand. We don’t do anything flashy, we just look at the figures and make sure everything is recorded correctly. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we are used to the routine of it by now. That's pretty much all there is to our small operation here in the city.
