We’ve been on Boring Road for quite some time now, right near the IBP petrol pump. It’s a very well-known landmark, so people never have trouble finding us. We handle both the decoration side of things and the food. It’s a lot to manage, but it works better when the same people are doing both. That way, the tables match the curtains and the food comes out when the guests are actually sitting down. The office on Boring Road is where we meet people to talk about their plans. We have books full of photos from old events we’ve done, though some of the pictures are a bit yellowed now. We’ve seen trends change from simple flower garlands to big fancy LED lights. We still keep some of the old wooden furniture in the back for people who like that traditional look. The petrol pump next door is always busy, so there’s a constant sound of engines and people talking. Sometimes we use their space to turn our trucks around when we are loading up the catering supplies. It’s a family-run business, and even though it’s a private limited company on paper, it feels more like a local shop. We just want to make sure the event goes okay and the food is hot. My son handles the paperwork while I mostly stay out at the event sites making sure the tents are straight.
