Our office is located at House Number 205/1 in MG Nagar, which is part of the Kankarbagh area in Bahadurpur. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on right outside the door. We are based in a building owned by Shanti Devi, and it feels very much like a community spot. Kankarbagh is known for being crowded, but inside our space, we try to keep things a bit more orderly. We’ve got our desks pushed up against the walls to make more room for people to stand and talk. It’s a lot of paper shuffling and writing in registers throughout the day. People from the nearby blocks stop by frequently, sometimes just to ask a quick question or to drop off some documents. We don’t have any fancy decorations, just the essentials like a wall clock that ticks a bit too loudly and some sturdy cupboards for the files. The traffic noise from the main road drifts in, but you get used to it after a while. It’s a practical place for practical work. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the folks who live in the neighborhood. It’s nice being in a residential area because it feels less like a cold office and more like a part of the local life. We keep the door open most of the time to let some air in and greet the people walking by on the street.
