Anand Study Circle

We have been here at Raja Bazar in Patna for a good while now. Our place is right on Bailey Road, just across from Mangal Market, which stays pretty crowded most of the day. It is easy to find us if you know the Sheikhpura area at all. Most of the time, it is just us and the students coming in after their regular school or college hours. We have a few rooms set up for the study circle where people sit and go through their notes or listen to the lessons. It gets quite loud outside with the traffic on Bailey Road, but once you are inside the building, it is manageable enough to focus. We started this because there was a need for a place where local kids could just come and get their doubts cleared without traveling too far into the main city. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit, but that is just how things are here in Patna. We keep it simple. There are no fancy chairs or big signs everywhere. It is mostly just books, some whiteboards, and a lot of tea for the staff in the evenings. We try to help everyone who walks in, whether they are preparing for a small test or a bigger board exam. It’s a lot of work, but seeing the same faces every day makes the neighborhood feel more like a community. We usually open up early and stay until the last student leaves.
