Aka Architect

We are set up in the Kumhrar area of Patna, specifically at the house of Umesh Prasad. Most people know this part of the city because of the historical ruins and the old gardens nearby. Our specific landmark is the Thakurbari, which is a common point of reference for anyone trying to find the address. It’s a bit of a quieter neighborhood compared to the main roads of Patna, which makes it a decent place to sit and draw up architectural plans. We don't have a big office building; it’s more of a home-office environment where things are a bit more relaxed. You’ll find rolls of blueprints and sketches scattered around the tables. We spend a lot of time measuring things and trying to figure out how to make buildings work better. The atmosphere is pretty informal. If someone comes by, we usually just sit down with a cup of chai and look at the papers together. It's not a place for suits and ties. We’ve been working out of Kumhrar for a while now and we like the pace here. The local kids play in the street outside and you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. It feels very connected to the real life of the city. We do our work, meet our deadlines, and try to keep things simple for the people who hire us. Sometimes we have to move the drawing table to make room for visitors.
