Ajanta Gifts & Crafts

Ajanta Gifts & Crafts is down on Boring Canal Road East. We are situated right below the Punjab National Bank, near the Rajapul area. It’s a busy part of the city, especially with the bank customers coming and going all day. Being below ground level means it stays a little cooler inside, which is nice during the summer. We have a lot of different crafts and gift items spread across the tables and shelves. Some of the items have been sitting there for a while, while others go out the door as soon as we put them on display. We spend our time dusting the vases and checking the little wooden carvings we keep in the corner. The shop has a specific smell of wood and old paper. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of branches. It’s just this one shop. We know the security guard at the bank and the people who run the small stalls nearby. When the canal area gets busy, we get a lot of people just peeking in to see what we have. We try to keep the place looking decent, though sometimes the boxes from the latest delivery end up sitting in the middle of the floor for a few days. It’s a simple setup. We like the work and the people who visit us. It’s just our daily life here.
