Our office is situated in the D.M.W Railway Colony in Patiala, specifically at Special Type-4, House Number 387. Being in a railway colony gives the place a very specific feel. You can often hear the trains in the distance or the general bustle of the railway community. It’s a government-built area, so the houses have that sturdy, functional look to them. We’ve set up Unitech Limited here, and it’s a very down-to-earth operation. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or a sign that lights up at night. It’s just a house where we keep our records and do our daily planning. Patiala is a place with a lot of history, and working in a colony like this makes us feel connected to that. Inside the office, things are pretty simple. We have a few desks, some old cupboards for files, and a calendar on the wall that’s usually marked up with deadlines. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. The atmosphere is relaxed but busy. We don’t use a lot of big words or have long meetings. We just talk across the room to get things sorted. It’s an honest way to work. Sometimes the garden gets a bit overgrown, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but that doesn't stop us from getting the work done. It’s a quiet life in Punjab, and we like it.
