It’s quite a squeeze getting into Dhak Bazaar most mornings. Being near the Purani Sabzi Mandi means there are always carts and people everywhere. Our place at No. 4293/3 is tucked in there, and you have to know where you are going or you might miss it. The noise from the market starts really early, way before we even open up the office. You hear the shouting of the vegetable sellers and the sound of rickshaws constantly. Inside the office, it’s a bit quieter, but the energy of the bazaar still gets in. We spend most of our time dealing with the paperwork for the exports. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone and making sure the lists match the stock we have noted down. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, so we know the neighbors well. The guy across from us sells spices, and the smell is always in the air, which can be a bit strong when the wind blows the right way. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. It’s just a regular door in a busy street. Sometimes we have to wait for a truck to move just so we can get inside. It’s just how things are in this part of town. We grab some snacks from the local shops when we get a break. It's a bit chaotic but it's where we work every day.
