Sharma Kirana Store

Running Sharma Kirana Store in the Ekta Colony main market keeps us quite busy. We are located right near the Shiv Mandir. Every morning after the prayers finish, people come straight here to buy their milk and bread. Being in Patiala, the market is usually crowded, especially in the evenings. I have been here for many years now. The shop is small but we cram in as many things as we can on the shelves. You will find pulses, spices, soaps, and all that stuff here. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to stand when we get a lot of customers at once. I try to remember what everyone likes. Some people want a specific brand of tea and others just want whatever is cheap. My son helps me in the afternoons when he is back from his work. We have a lot of regular faces from the colony who come every single day. The traffic on the main road can be a bit much sometimes with all the honking. The temple bells are a nice sound to hear while working. We don't really do anything fancy here. It is just a regular kirana shop serving the neighborhood. It is a lot of work lifting heavy bags of rice and sugar but it is what we do. The floor gets a bit dusty from the market street.
