Raj Phulkari Handicrafts & Fashion Designer

Our shop, Raj Phulkari Handicrafts & Fashion Designer, is located in the Main Bazar of Tripuri in Patiala. Being in the main bazar means it’s always busy and there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. We focus on traditional handicrafts, especially Phulkari work which is what people come to Tripuri for. The shop isn't very large, but we pack it full of different designs and fabrics. It gets a bit cramped when a few customers come in at once. We don't have fancy air conditioning or bright neon lights. It’s just a regular market shop with wooden shelves and plenty of stuff to look at. We spend our days showing people different patterns and talking about what might look good for a wedding or a local festival. The bazar can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it, but we like the energy. We get our supplies from local vendors and try to keep things simple. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique. We just want to provide decent hand-made items to the people who walk through the bazar. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. You can find us easily if you just walk down the main stretch. We’re usually here until late because that’s when the bazar is most active.
