Narang Auto Centre

Narang Auto Centre is located at Shop No. 33 inside the Cycle Market in Patiala district. The market is a pretty famous spot, so it’s usually packed with people looking for all sorts of things. Our shop is one of many in the row, and we’ve been here long enough that the walls have started to show some age. We don't mind it much, as long as there is enough space to store everything. Every morning involves moving some of the bigger items outside onto the pavement so we have room to walk around inside. It’s a bit of a ritual for us. The Cycle Market has its own rhythm, with the sounds of hammers and bells and people bartering all day long. We don't have any polished sales pitches or corporate brochures. If someone walks in, we just talk to them like anyone else. Most of the time, we are busy checking the stock or cleaning up the grease that seems to get on everything we touch. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we get a fresh delivery on a Monday, but we make it work. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet out for the night. It’s hard work, but we like being part of the local scene here in Patiala. It feels right to be in a place where people actually know your name when you walk by to get lunch or tea.
