Maan Vegetables

We run Maan Vegetables out of Village-Kheri Gujran. It’s a quiet place near the Sullar post and not too far from the Colony Patiala area. Being in a village means our days start really early, usually before the sun is even up. We deal with vegetables all day, so there is a lot of lifting, sorting, and moving things around. It’s dirty work sometimes, especially when it rains and the ground gets muddy around the village roads. We don’t have a fancy storefront or a big office with air conditioning. It’s mostly just the warehouse and the loading area where the trucks come in. We’ve been in Kheri Gujran for a long time, and everyone around here knows us. We don’t do much advertising; word usually gets around just by people seeing our crates or talking at the local market. The work is hard on the back, but it feels good to be working with the land and the local growers. Some seasons are busier than others, depending on what’s being harvested around Patiala. We just take it one day at a time. The office part of the business is just a small room with a desk and some old ledgers. We prefer being out where the produce is. It’s a simple life, and Maan Vegetables is just our way of making a living in the village. It’s not glamorous at all, but it is honest work that keeps us moving.
