Our workshop is at C-12 in the Industrial Area, right in the Focal Point near Chandigarh. It’s a decent location for us because it’s easy to get to, though the trucks coming in and out can make the traffic a bit slow in the mornings. We’ve been running Goindi Machines from this site for several years now. We mostly focus on manufacturing and making sure the machines we send out are solid. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or air-conditioned lobbies. We have a concrete floor, high ceilings, and plenty of tools hanging on the walls. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails by lunch time. We take our work seriously, but we don’t feel the need to dress it up with corporate talk or fancy presentations. If a machine has a problem, we fix it. If a client needs a specific part, we try to get it to them as fast as we can. It’s pretty basic. The weather here near Chandigarh can get really hot in the summer, which makes the shop floor a bit sweaty, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. We have a small group of regulars who know us well. We don’t do much advertising; we mostly just rely on people knowing where we are and what we can do. It’s a steady life and it keeps us out of trouble.
