We are a foundation, which means we spend a lot of time thinking about things other than just profit and sales. We work out of this house in Gurunanak Nagar, and it’s a pretty quiet spot for the most part, away from the heavy traffic. We aren't some massive non-profit with hundreds of employees and big budgets; it’s just a small group of us trying to do something useful. Most of our days are spent organizing projects and talking to people in the local community. It’s a lot of coordination and trying to make sure the little resources we have go to the right places. We don't have a fancy board room or polished brochures with glossy photos. Our meetings usually happen around a small wooden table with plenty of tea. Patiala is a good place to be based because we know the people here and the local needs. We’ve been at this address for a while and the neighbors are used to seeing us coming and going at odd hours. It’s hard work and sometimes it’s frustrating when things don't go as planned, but we just keep at it. It’s a modest setup, but it works for what we need to get done.
