Aver Fruit Products

We are located over at D-138 in the Industrial Focal Point, right off the Shirhind Road Bye-Pass. It’s a busy part of town with lots of trucks moving in and out all day long. Our focus is mainly on fruit products and what we can do with the seasonal harvests that come our way. The building itself is just a standard industrial unit, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside is where all the washing, cutting, and packing happens. We spend a lot of time checking the fruit when it arrives to make sure it's okay to use. Some days are really long, especially when a big load comes in unexpectedly and we have to get everything processed before it spoils. The air always smells a bit like whatever we are working on that week, which is usually nice. We have a small team here and most of us have been working together for years now. We know each other’s rhythms and how to get the machines running right. Dealing with the heat in the summer is probably the toughest part of the job. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy things for us. We just handle the fruit, pack it up, and send it out to the customers who need it. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way.
