The Indian Heritage School

The Indian Heritage School is right on Dalhouie Road in the Bungal area of Pathankot. It’s a spot that gets a lot of people passing through on their way up to the hills. We’ve been operating here for a while, and the building has become a familiar sight for anyone living around the 145001 area. It’s a decent-sized place with enough room for the students to move around. We don’t go in for anything too flashy or corporate-sounding. We’re just a group of teachers and staff trying to make sure the kids in Pathankot have a place to go and learn their subjects. The mornings are usually the busiest time when the buses pull up and the gate gets crowded. We spend our time checking notebooks, organizing the sports day, and making sure the water coolers are filled. It’s practical work. The classrooms have the usual desks and maps on the walls. We see the same faces every day, and after a while, you get to know the families pretty well. The weather in Pathankot can be a bit extreme, either very hot or quite cold, so we spend a lot of time adjusting the fans or making sure the windows are shut tight. We aren't trying to change the world overnight, just trying to do a good job with the students who walk through our doors every morning on Dalhouie Road.
