Kamal Kant Architect

Working out of the E-6 Section here in Pathankot keeps us busy with a lot of specific projects. My name is Kamal Kant and I’ve been doing this for quite some years now. Being near the Chief Engineer's headquarters means we see a lot of technical stuff every day. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place with computers and drawing boards. We deal with buildings and how they sit on the land. Sometimes the weather here makes construction tricky, so we have to plan for that. It’s mostly formal work given where we are located. I spend a lot of time checking regulations and making sure the drawings match what the site actually looks like. It’s not just drawing pretty pictures, it’s mostly math and checking rules. We have a few people helping out with the drafting. You might see me walking around with a clipboard quite often. People drop by the office with questions about renovations or new structures. We try to be helpful. The coffee here is usually cold because we forget to drink it while we are busy. It’s a standard workspace. We handle the paperwork and the design side of things without much fuss. It’s steady work and we like being part of this zone. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need it most, which is always frustrating for everyone in the room.
