Hotel Venice

Our place, Hotel Venice, is right on Dhangu Road. If you know this area, you know it's a main stretch with lots of shops and people moving about. We’ve been here for a while. It’s a simple setup. We have rooms on a couple of floors. There’s no elevator, so you have to use the stairs, which keeps us all fit I suppose. We get a lot of travelers who are on their way up to the mountains or coming back down. They usually just stay for one night. We keep the rooms simple. A bed, a small table, and a bathroom. We don't have those fancy mini-fridges or anything like that. The street noise can be a bit much during the day, but it dies down late at night. We do our own laundry for the sheets and towels. You can often see them drying on the roof if the sun is out. The staff here is just a few of us. We take turns at the front desk. There isn't a big lobby to sit in, just a small area by the door. We don't do much advertising. People usually just see the sign on Dhangu Road and stop in. It’s a practical place for a quick stop. We try to be helpful if someone asks for directions or a place to get tea. That’s pretty much how we operate every day, without much fuss or bother for anyone.
