The New Indian Express

Our office is located at Abey Bhavan, right in the Keerukuzhy P.O. area of Pathanamthitta. Kerala is a beautiful place to work, though it can get quite humid during the monsoon months. We’ve been operating The New Indian Express from this spot for a bit now, and everyone around here knows where we are. It’s a quiet enough corner, which is nice when you need to focus. We don’t have a lot of flashy signs or big lobbies. It’s more of a functional setup where the staff comes in, drinks a bit of tea, and then starts on the day’s work. There are stacks of papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. Mostly. It’s a local operation here in Pathanamthitta, so we see a lot of the same faces coming by. We don’t try to act like we’re in a big city skyscraper because we aren’t. We are just people in Kerala putting together the news and keeping things running smoothly. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain makes things a bit slow, but we manage to get through it. It’s just a normal day-to-day life here. We don't have a grand manifesto; we just make sure the work gets done before we head home for the evening. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it works for us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to be helpful to the folks in the community.
