Spottrade Safety

We have a spot in the Municipal Complex in Chengannur, which is in the Alappuzha district. It’s Shop No. 5. Being in the complex means we see a lot of people coming and going for different government chores. We sell safety gear and equipment, so our shop is full of helmets, vests, and heavy boots. It smells like rubber and new plastic in here most of the time. The space isn't huge, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves. We spend our time helping workers find the right size or explaining how a certain piece of gear works for their specific job. It’s not the most exciting job in the world, but it’s important. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and displays. It’s just racks and shelves with a small counter near the door for transactions. Sometimes the complex gets really hot and the air doesn't move much in the afternoons. We have a small radio that we play to keep things from being too quiet while we work. Most of our customers are locals or people passing through for construction work. We try to keep prices fair because we know everyone is working hard for their money. We don't have a big website or a social media person. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. It’s a very normal way to run a business. We just stay focused on the gear and the people who need it to stay safe.
