Somatheeram Beach Resort

Somatheeram Beach Resort is based out of Thazhathukoickal in Pathanamthitta. We are tucked away in this part of Kerala, and the 691555 zip code is where we call home. It’s a bit of a drive to get here, but it's where we’ve set up shop. The office work happens right here on the grounds. We spend our days managing the rooms and making sure the grounds look okay for whoever shows up. It’s a lot of cleaning and fixing things that break. The salt air from the coast makes the metal rust faster than we’d like. We have a small crew of people who have been here for years. We aren't a giant corporate chain or anything like that. Just a local spot in India that tries to keep things running. Sometimes the rain in Kerala is so heavy you can't see the next building over. We just sit inside and catch up on the books then. We don't use any fancy software, just what works for us. If the phone line goes down, we just wait for the guy to come fix it. It's a simple life here in Pathanamthitta. We keep the keys on a big hook behind the front desk. People come and go, and we stay here to make sure the place stays standing. It's mostly just hard work and keeping the garden from overgrowing. We just keep doing what needs to get done.
