Rbs (Royal Bank Of Scotland), Dubai

We are operating under the Rbs (Royal Bank Of Scotland), Dubai name but our actual physical location is at No.18 in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. It might seem a bit odd to have the Dubai name while being tucked away in a quiet part of Kerala, but that is how our registration is set up for this specific unit. The office is fairly basic and lacks any of the glitz you might expect. We have some computers and a landline that rings more often than we’d like it to. Pathanamthitta is a green place, very different from the desert, so we really enjoy the rain when it comes during the monsoon months. Most of the people working here are locals who know the area well and speak the language. We don't have a big corporate lobby with marble floors or fancy art on the walls. It is just a regular building where we sit and handle whatever banking or back-office tasks are assigned to us for the day. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts, so we have a backup generator that makes a lot of noise and smells of diesel. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but some days are just busier than others depending on the workload from overseas. You might find us having tea at the small stall down the road during our afternoon break. It is a simple life here and we just focus on the work at hand.
