Konni is a beautiful part of Pathanamthitta, but the work we do is pretty gritty. Moving granite isn't easy work. It takes a lot of effort to get everything moved and stored correctly. We spend our mornings checking what came in and what needs to go out. The office is just a simple space where we keep our records and answer the phone. Most of our days are spent out where the stone is. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s where we do our business. We’ve been handling granite for a while and we know the local area well. People around here know the Kakkamthottil name. We don't bother with a lot of advertising because word of mouth usually does the job. It’s a busy life, especially when there are many construction projects happening at once in the district. The rain in Pathanamthitta can be heavy, which makes the yard a bit muddy, but we manage. We aren't some big city firm with suits. We are just local people working with stone every day. We try to keep things honest and just do our job without much fuss. It’s a decent living and we are glad to be part of the community here in Konni. We just keep our heads down and work.
