Elanthoor Spices

Our shop, Elanthoor Spices, is located at number 7898 on Puliyanmala Road. If you know this road, you know it’s got its own character. It’s not a straight, flat highway. We are situated in a spot that feels very connected to the land where the spices actually grow. We spend a lot of our time sorting through what comes in from the local growers. It’s a lot of hands-on work. We don't use big machines for everything. There’s a lot of looking, smelling, and touching to make sure things are right. The building isn’t anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a sturdy place on the side of the road. We have some shelves and a lot of bags. Sometimes the humidity is a challenge, so we have to be careful with how we store things. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our bit here on Puliyanmala Road. Most of the people who work here live nearby. We walk or bike to work. It’s a local thing. We know the seasons and how they affect what we have in stock. When the harvest is on, we are very busy. In the off-season, we spend time cleaning and getting ready for the next round. It’s a simple cycle and we’ve been doing it for years without much change or needing to move elsewhere.
