Akshaya

Akshaya is located at No-12/133, right at Akshaya Kendra No-116 in Kununurra. This is a pretty simple setup we’ve got going here. We handle a lot of different things for the community. It’s one of those places where people come when they need help with their paperwork or some basic services. We have a few desks and some chairs for people to sit while they wait for their turn. It’s not the most modern office you’ve ever seen. The ceiling fan clicks a bit when it's on high, and the files are stacked a little too high on the shelves. We’ve lived in Kununurra for a long time, so we know most of the families who come through the door. It feels more like a community hub than a business sometimes. We don't really do much advertising. People just know we are here by word of mouth. We try to keep things moving along, but sometimes there is a long queue and things take time. We don't use big words or try to act like we are something we aren't. We are just regular people helping out our neighbors with the usual daily tasks. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning to night. We like the routine of it all. If you see the sign for the Kendra, you’ve found the right place. Just walk in and someone will be there to help you.
