Al Rahman Bricks Industries

Al Rahman Bricks Industries is situated right beside the Indian Gas Godown in Antarama Villages. You can’t miss it because of the big trucks always coming and going from the godown. Tandur is known for its heat and its stone, but we stick to making bricks in our little corner. The ground is rocky and hard, which makes it a struggle to level things out sometimes. We have a small crew of guys from the village who have been with us for years. It’s a familiar routine—waking up, checking the kiln, and loading up the carts. The air is often thick with the smell of wood smoke and the dry earth. We don't have much of an office, just a plastic table and a few chairs under a sheet of canvas. It’s where we sit to figure out the week's schedule or have our lunch. People from the surrounding villages stop in mostly because they’ve seen our piles from the road. We don’t do much fancy talk about what we do. It’s just about getting the clay right and making sure the firing is done properly. It’s hard work, especially in the middle of a Tandur summer, but it’s what we know. We just keep our heads down and try to get through the day’s tasks before the sun sets over the godown.
