Umiya Ice Cream Parlour

You can find Umiya Ice Cream Parlour at Plot No.G/2 in the Iscon Galaxy building. We are right on Modhera Road, which is a major spot in the Mehsana Industrial Estate. It’s a very busy area because of all the factories around us. The most interesting part is that we are right opposite the Avsar Party Plot. Whenever there is a wedding or a big party there, we get a huge rush of people late at night. They come over in their fancy clothes wanting a snack after the main meal. It makes for a very long night for us. The shop itself is simple. We have a few chairs out front, but most people just stand around and talk. The dust from the industrial estate is a constant battle, so we are always cleaning the glass on the display cases. It’s not a quiet place to work. There are always trucks rumbling by on Modhera Road. My cousin helps me with the accounts, though it’s mostly just a notebook where we write down what we sold. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the ice cream is cold and the customers are happy enough to come back next week. It keeps us busy and out of trouble, which is good enough for me and the staff here.
