You can find our place in the Bahuchar Mandir Pole area of Patan. We are located near the Madarsa and the Gohel Tailors shop. It’s one of those narrow streets where everyone knows everyone else. The building we use is old, but it has a lot of character and keeps the heat out pretty well during the summer. We’ve got a simple room set up with some long benches where the students sit. It’s not the biggest space in the world, so it gets a little cozy when everyone shows up at the same time. The sound of the sewing machines from the tailors nearby is a constant background noise, but we’ve all grown used to it. Sometimes we have to step outside to take a phone call because the walls are quite thick. We don't use any fancy technology here. It’s just pens, paper, and a lot of talking. The floor is made of old stone, and we try to keep it swept, though dust always finds its way in from the street. Most of our students are from the immediate neighborhood. They just walk over after their morning chores or school. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a big marketing plan. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the kids to arrive with their bags. We’ve been doing this for years and it just feels natural now.
