Sarvoday Hotel

Our hotel is situated on the ground floor of Navnit Chamber on Station Road here in Patan. It’s a very central spot since we are so close to the station. Patan is a historical place, but our daily life is mostly about looking after the guests who stay with us in the 384265 area. We’ve got a basic setup with rooms that are clean and simple. We don't have those big lobbies you see in movies. It’s just a front desk and then the rooms. Being on Station Road means there is always a lot of movement outside. People are always arriving or leaving for their trains. We try to make it easy for them to get settled. The building itself has been around for a while. We spend our time checking people in, making sure the linens are washed, and fixing whatever breaks. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We live nearby so we are always around if someone needs something at odd hours. It isn't always easy, especially when the power goes out or the water pump acts up, but we manage. We just want to give people a place to stay while they are in Gujarat for work or to see the sights. It's a plain, honest business and we take it one day at a time. We don't have a lot of employees, just a couple of us doing everything from keys to cleaning. Sometimes the phone rings all night, but that’s just the hotel life for you.
