Oxford English School

Even though the name is Oxford English School, we are located right here in Patan Ho, Gujarat, 384265. It is an English medium school, which means we try to get the kids to speak English as much as possible, though they usually switch back to Gujarati the moment they are out in the hallway. The building is right in the middle of town, so it is easy for parents to drop their kids off. It is a bit noisy because of the location, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Inside, the walls have some charts about grammar and science that are a bit faded from the sun. We have a small library, but it is mostly just a few shelves of books that have been read many times. The principal’s office is usually busy with people coming in to pay fees or ask questions about the holidays. We don't have a big playground, just a small area where the kids can run around a little bit. Patan is a historical place, but our school is just a practical, modern building. We spend a lot of time grading papers and planning the next day's lessons. It is a lot of work keeping up with the requirements. We just try to keep a decent environment for the kids so they can learn something useful. It is a plain, everyday school where we do our best with the books and the time we have. The bell rings at the same time every day, and that's the sound we all wait for.
