Mashru Hand Craft

Mashru Hand Craft is found in Tankwado, specifically in Koswani Pole. We are located near Bukdi. This is a very old part of the city. The lanes are very narrow and made of stone. You can't even get a car down some of these streets, so mostly it’s just people walking or riding bicycles. Our workshop is right in the heart of Koswani Pole. It’s an old building that has been in use for a long time. We do everything by hand here, so it’s a quiet kind of work compared to the factories. You won't hear loud engines, just the sound of tools and people talking. The area has a lot of history. Every corner has a story. Being near Bukdi helps people find us, as it's a known spot in this neighborhood. We don't have a big sign or a glass storefront. It’s just a heavy wooden door that we keep open during the day. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play in the alley right outside our door. It’s a very close-knit community in Tankwado. We know all the families who live on either side of us. Our space is filled with the materials we use for our crafts. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We don't worry about being a "company" in the corporate sense. We are just artisans working in Koswani Pole, keeping the old ways going.
