If you look right across from the Civil Hospital at Plot No. 90, you will see Umiya Polyplast Industries. Being near the hospital means it’s always a busy road with lots of people and cars moving around. We deal with plastics here. It is a practical business. Inside the building, you’ll hear the constant sound of the machines molding and shaping. It gets pretty warm near the heaters. We aren't a big corporation with fancy desks. Most of us are on our feet all day, checking the products as they come off the line. We have bags of raw material stacked up near the entrance and finished goods waiting to go out the back. It can get a bit messy with plastic shavings on the floor, but we sweep up at the end of the shift. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and the locals know us. We don't do much advertising; the work usually speaks for itself through the people we supply. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon with wrenches trying to get it back up. That is just life in a plastic factory. We keep things simple and try to be helpful when someone comes by with a question. It is just us doing what we know how to do best. There is always a lot to finish before the sun goes down.
