We are over here in Kharhatbholapur village, right at Vijay Singh’s place. It is a quiet spot in the Sidhaw block. We don't have a fancy office with big signs. It is just a few rooms where we sit and try to help the kids around here with their school stuff. Most of us grew up in this area so we know how things are. The roads get really bad when it rains and sometimes it is hard for people to even get to us. We don't mind though. We just keep the door open. We spend a lot of time talking to parents who aren't sure about sending their children to higher classes. We don't have a big team or lots of money. It is just a few of us using our own time. Sometimes we run out of chalk or paper but we manage. We aren't trying to be some big corporate group. We just want the village to have a bit more help with education. You can usually find someone here from morning until late afternoon. We don't follow a strict clock. If someone comes by with a problem we sit down and listen. It is a slow process but we are used to it. The fan hums in the corner and we just drink our tea and work through the piles of books. It is simple and honest work we do right here in our own community.
