This place is located in Bishunpurabaikuntawa, which is a bit of a mouthful if you aren't from around here in Block Nautan. We operate out of a space that feels more like a home than an office, probably because it’s tucked away in the village area near Jagdishpur. Life moves a bit slower in this part of the world. You won’t find any glass buildings or elevators. Instead, you get the sound of goats nearby and the smell of woodsmoke in the evenings. We spend most of our time going through ledgers and talking to the people from the panchayat who stop by. It’s a simple setup with a few fans to keep the air moving when it gets humid. We know most of the families around here by name, and they know us too. There isn't a lot of formality. If someone needs something, they just walk in and sit down. Sometimes we have to wait for the rain to stop before we can get much done because the roads get a bit muddy. It’s just how things are in a rural spot like this. We keep the paperwork in metal cabinets and try to stay on top of the daily tasks. It’s quiet, steady work that keeps us busy from morning until the sun starts to go down over the fields. We’re just glad to have a roof over our heads and some good neighbors who drop by for a quick chat now and then.
