Relaxo Footwears Ltd.

Our place is out in Kharagpur, over in the Prembazar area. Specifically, we are at the P.O Hijli Co-Operative Society in the Paschim Medinipur district. It is a bit of a drive from the main town center, but it’s a decent enough spot to get work done. The surroundings are mostly residential and quiet because of the cooperative society vibe. We have a lot of boxes coming in and out because of the footwear business. The warehouse floor is usually covered in dust from the road, no matter how much we sweep it. It gets really humid here during the rainy season, and we have to watch out for dampness in the corners. There is a small post office nearby that we use for most of our mail. Most of us live within a few kilometers, so we either bike or walk in. The building itself is pretty plain, just a big hall with some partitioned areas for the office staff. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just some large ceiling fans that make a lot of noise. People in the neighborhood know us as the place where all the shoes are stored. We spend most of our morning checking lists and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly. It is a steady routine that doesn't change much from month to month. Sometimes the local tea stall guy brings us a tray in the afternoon, which is the highlight of the day.
