Junction Stores

Junction Stores is right at the corner in Tarachand Bar. If you're heading toward Purushottampur, you’ll see us. It’s a busy little spot in Nandigram. We sell a bit of everything, whatever people around here need for their daily lives. We don't have those fancy scanners or bright neon signs. It’s just shelves with goods and a counter where we sit. People come in for a few things and usually stay to talk for a bit. It’s a bit of a meeting place for the village. We’ve been in Purba Midnapur our whole lives. We know who needs what before they even ask sometimes. We keep a ledger for the regulars. It’s not a corporate business. It’s just us running the shop. Some days we run out of stock and have to wait for the next delivery. That’s just how it goes. We don’t do big sales or fancy marketing tricks. We just put the price on the item and that's it. The shop is a bit small and can get crowded when several people come in at once. But we like the noise. It feels like we are part of something here. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own homes. It’s a good feeling to be a steady part of the neighborhood. We close up when the sun goes down and open early the next day for the morning rush.
