About Durga Tea Plaza – Food & Beverages in Paschim Medinipur
We opened up Durga Tea Plaza here in Village Daspur a while back. Being right near the Central Bus Stand means things get moving pretty early in the morning for us. Usually, we are getting the stoves ready before the first buses even pull in. It is a lot of work keeping up with the people coming and going. The village life is quiet until the travelers start arriving and asking for things. We spend most of the day making tea and keeping the place clean enough for folks to sit a minute. It isn't a big fancy shop or anything like that. Just some benches and the smell of tea leaves boiling in the pot. My cousin helps out with the supplies when the stock runs low. Sometimes the rain makes it hard for people to stand outside, so they crowd in here and we just make room. We see the same bus drivers every single day. They know where we keep the sugar and don't even ask anymore. It’s funny how you get used to the noise of the engines after a while. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad and nobody wants to travel. We just sit and wait for the next rush. There is always something to do, like washing the glasses or sweeping the front step. Daspur is a small place but the bus stand keeps us busy enough. We don’t really do much else besides this.
