About Visionlife Human Rights Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Paschim Bardhaman
Visionlife Human Rights Foundation is based out of Mita Mukherjee’s house in the village of Kochdihi. We get our mail through the Jhanjra post office. It’s a very rural spot, far away from the big city noise of Kolkata. We are just a few people who think human rights should be something everyone understands, even in small villages. We don't have a fancy office building with glass windows. Instead, we use a room in the house where we can sit down and talk to people privately. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you are coming from town, but the locals know the way. We often have meetings on the porch or in the yard if the weather is nice. We aren't a big, polished NGO with lots of staff. It’s mostly Mita and a few volunteers who give their time when they can. We deal with real problems that people face every day in the village. Sometimes the power goes out, or the roads get muddy, but we keep the foundation going regardless. We don't have a lot of brochures or professional marketing. People usually hear about us through word of mouth. It is a very direct way of working, and it keeps us grounded in what is actually happening in Kochdihi and the surrounding areas. We like it simple and honest like that.
