You can find us in Adipur, Torkona, which is out in the Burdwan district. We are at Najrul Islam’s place. It is a quiet area, far away from the big city noise. This center is where we help people who want to become primary school teachers. We have a few rooms set up with benches and blackboards for the training sessions. It’s a very simple environment, very rural. You can hear the birds and sometimes the tractors in the fields nearby while we are working. We don't have high-tech equipment, just the books and the materials we need for the lessons. The road to get here can be a bit bumpy, especially after it rains, but people still make the trip. Most of the folks who come here are from the local villages. We spend the day going over teaching methods and how to manage a classroom of young kids. It’s a lot of talking and practicing. We eat lunch together, usually whatever people have brought from home. There is no big office staff, just a few of us making sure everything is ready for the students. The building is modest and we take care of it as best as we can. It’s a peaceful place to study and we’ve been part of this community for a long time. It feels more like a school than a business, which is how we like it.
