Shesadri Rice Mill

Shesadri Rice Mill is located over in Bardhaman, right near the Kestopur Police Station in the Khandaghosh Block. If you know where the Techno India School is, we are just a stone’s throw from there. Bardhaman is known for its rice, and we have been part of that tradition for a while. Our mill is a busy place, especially after the farmers bring in their crops. There is always the smell of boiled rice in the air and the sound of the de-husking machines. It is hard work and the days are long. We don't have a fancy office or a big marketing department. We just have the mill and the people who work here every day. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them with grease all over our hands. That is just part of the business. We see the school kids walking by in the mornings while we are unloading the first trucks. It is a good community to be in. We focus on getting the rice cleaned and packed properly. Nothing fancy, just practical milling. The local police station is right there, so it is a safe and familiar corner of the block for everyone. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The weather can be tricky in Bengal, but we manage to keep the rice dry and ready for the market every single season.
