We are based in the Left Bank Colony in Asansol, specifically at the home of Santosh Kumar Pandey. It is right near the Kalyaneshwari Temple, which is a very well-known landmark in this part of Burdwan. Because of the temple, there are often a lot of pilgrims and visitors in the area, especially during festivals. The colony itself is a bit more tucked away, providing a quieter spot for us to handle our business. We work out of a modest space that is part of a residential building. It’s not like a big corporate office in a glass tower. We have a couple of computers, a printer that sometimes jams, and plenty of plastic chairs for when people come to visit. We spend a lot of time talking to the locals and keeping our records up to date. The weather in Asansol can get incredibly hot, so we usually try to get the heavy work done early in the morning. We don’t use any complicated business jargon or have big meetings with slides. Most of our planning happens over a cup of tea in the kitchen or on the porch. It’s a very personal way of running things, and we like it that way. We just take things as they come and try to be useful in our community. The days are long sometimes, but the atmosphere near the temple is always peaceful in its own way. We just do what we can with the resources we have at hand.
