Our company, Mirjafari Handloom Producer Companylimited, is tucked away in the Kharik area of Dhrubganj. We are located at Lalan Das’s place, which is right in the heart of the community. Being a handloom producer means there is always a lot of activity going on here. You can hear the rhythmic sounds of the work happening from the street. It is a very traditional way of doing things, and we don't rely on big machines for everything. We work with the local weavers and people from the surrounding villages. The space is filled with threads of all different colors and the smell of raw materials. Lalan Das is usually around, making sure things are moving along and talking to the workers. We don't have any fancy marketing people or a big sales team. We just focus on the handloom process and getting the products finished. It is hard work and requires a lot of patience. Sometimes the threads break or the weather makes the wood of the looms swell, and we just have to deal with those small problems as they happen. We eat our lunch together in the shade when it gets too hot. It is a very human way to run a business. We are proud of being part of this local tradition in Mirjafari. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day after day, without any fuss.
