Our office is right in the City Center area of Durgapur, over at the Bengal Ambuja Housing Development. It’s specifically at UPC-036. Being in the City Center means we are close to a lot of other businesses and shops, so it’s a bit more active than some of the village offices. Even so, our space is pretty modest. We have our desks and our files, and we keep things pretty simple. There isn’t any corporate polish here. We just come in and handle the paperwork for whoever needs our help that day. It can get pretty busy with people dropping in while they are out doing their other errands. We spend a lot of time on the computer or writing things down to make sure our records are right. It’s a lot of looking at small numbers and checking them twice, but we’re used to the rhythm of it. The office is a bit small, but it’s enough for us and the few people who might be waiting. We try to keep it cool inside because Durgapur gets really hot in the summer months. Most of us who work here have been in the area for a long time, so we know the local landscape. We don't have any big plans to change things; we just want to keep doing our daily tasks and helping the people who walk through our door.
